I have always been a sucker for adventure. The day before I was supposed to begin my career as an EMT, I went on a rafting trip with my brother, who had recently started working as a whitewater guide. After several harrowing swims, various minor injuries, a lost sandal, broken sunglasses, and more than a little bit of negotiating with God…I was hooked.
Over the next decade, rafting evolved into kayaking and guiding turned into making videos, sold to support my habit. As my number of days on rivers waned and life’s responsibilities were piling on, I began to feel like I might need a “real job”. Fortunately, it was then I realized that I was, in fact, already on my way to becoming a content producer. The exciting age of digital design and video production was just getting started, and I had a wave to catch.
Collaboration, design, storytelling, and the challenges of creating something from nothing are the aspects of this job I fell in love with. Along the way, I learned to adapt to any condition, I became familiar with existing outside of comfort zones, and I embraced the evolving digital environment.
Yellow Springs, Ohio has been my home for the past 10 years with my wife, Sara, our son, Wyatt, and our dog, Banjo Dog. These days if I’m not at work, hanging out with my family, you can still find me paddling on some body of water, flying through the trees on my mountain bike, or cheffing it up on the back yard grill.
